Introduction
The Security Management method (protecting against unauthorized activities) described in this summary offers a balanced system for the protection of enterprises etc., including a system for quality assurance. The application of the system garantees a perfect match between the internal security measures (guard force etc.) and the external security measures (police) in case of an incident. The method is developed in the Netherlands by messrs. R.C. Ackx and H.C.A. Duijndam.
The good results with this method induced the Haagse Hogeschool (higher vocational education, economy and management section) to introduce the method in their regular programme. The lessons are also given during eight half days in the form of a course for those who left the schoolbanks some time ago but who like to have some additional education in the security field. The Post HBO foundation has officially recognized the course and supervises the programme, course material and quality of this post-hbo course.
In the Netherlands the method has been successfully used for the protection of nuclear installations. The Netherlands army uses the method for the protection of its military sites.
The method is no longer unknown in Belgium since an introcution is given during the HIVA course Guarding and Security at Louvain, which has been approved by the Minister of the Interior.
At last a method which among other things assures that security measures are accepted, introduced and made part of everyday management!
