Interpol CD-ROM 'STOLEN WORKS OF ART'

A new step in the fight against art thief is done today trought the release of a new CD-ROM, Interpol " Stolen Works of Art ".
This CD-ROM is the result of close co-operation between Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organisation and Jouve Diffusion. This CD-ROM contains the Interpol database of stolen works of art, representing yet over 14,000 works of all kinds, most of which include photographs.
Designed for art professionals, police and customs services, this easy to use CD-ROM allows for an unlimited number of checks in the Interpol stolen works of art database.
Functionalities: an extremely powerful search system enables you to identify works using one or more criteria (title, type of object, artist, size, signature, material, manufacturing techniques, description, etc.). A phonetic system helps you to find misspelled artists names. It is possible to display the available photograph or photographs and use different zoom functions to view a detail. It is also possible to annotate a sheet or mark it so that it is easier to return to.
The product works on a Windows 3.1, 95, 98 or NT Pentium. The current version include English, French and Spanish languages as well with some of the Babylon's dictionaries to allow translations "by a single click" from english words in other languages (the dictionaries exist in Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish languages and can be download at www.Babylon.com)
The CD-ROM, and its every other months upgrades for one year, cost 498 US$ or 480 Euro (including shipping, excluding taxes) and can be purchased directly at Jouve. A discount price is available for police and customs services of the countries participating in the Interpol organisation.
